Lacassine Pool

Lacassine Pool is the name of the 16,000-acre habitat consisting of managed freshwater marsh. The pool provides food for wintering waterfowl including white-fronted and snow geese, pintail, blue-winged and green-winged teal, mallards, ring-necked ducks, gadwalls and American wigeon. It is an excellent location year round for wildlife observation and photography area. Multiple kiosks with interpretive information. Port-o-lets available at Lacassine Pool.

Myers Landing RV Park

Myers Landing is a beautiful place to visit. Myers Landing is located on the Mermentau River near the Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge (in Lowry) and 8 miles SW of Lake Arthur, LA. Our sites are situated under huge live oak and pecan trees. Myers Landing has full hook-ups, rental cabins, boat launch, washeteria and tent camping. Myers Landing is a great place for family; whether you are cooking-out, fishing, skiing, bicycling, relaxing, boating or playing a round of 18-hole mini golf. All that is missing is you and your family!

Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge

Established in 1920, Rockefeller Refuge originally encompassed 86,000 acres of wilderness. Due to coastal erosion, less than 76,000 acres currently remain. The refuge boasts the highest alligator nesting densities in the United States. Visit Price Lake Nature Drive, a five-mile drive into Rockefeller Refuge where you can observe a wide variety of wildlife and birds from the road or from an observation tower. Other activities at Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge include bird watching, shrimp, crabbing and fishing.

Cameron Jetty Fishing Pier & RV Facility

Purchase of wristband from guard on duty ($5) required to fish off pier. Facility features fishing pier, RV park, playground, walkway to beach, observation tower and public restroom facilities as well as pavilion for rent.
